Kaposi's Sarcoma, KS
This is a form of cancer that can occur in many different parts of the body. Some more common areas are the lining of the throat, nose, and mouth, beneath the skin, and in your organs. This cancer usually forms patches that are red or purple in color and they contain both cancer and blood cells. If you have this type of cancer you could feel no pain, or you may feel a great deal of pain. Bleeding can occur if the cancer is in the intestines or the lungs and breathing can be difficult with tumors in the lung.
Kaposi's sarcoma on its own develops at a slow pace; however, if it occurs in conjunction with AIDS, it progresses rapidly.
