Kidney Stones, Nephrolithiasis

A kidney stone is a solid piece of material that forms in the kidney from substances in the urine. Kidney stones come in a variety of sizes, from a tiny speck, to the size of a pea. No matter what the size, they are very painful. These stones are made from different particles in the urine. Sometimes they can go out of the body all on their own, sometimes they need only slight intervention, and other times surgery is needed.

Some things you may experience if you have a kidney stone are: constant, severe pain in your back or side, blood and/or cloudiness in your urine, painful and/or burning with urination, fever, chills, and vomiting.

If you suspect you may have a Kidney Stone, you should seek medical attention for an evaluation.
