Pharmaceuticals, Compounded
Compounded pharmaceuticals are prescriptions used to treat many medical conditions that have generally been overlooked by commercially available sources and provide a unique solution for the patient's needs which would otherwise remain unmet.
Some examples of compounded pharmaceuticals are hormone therapy (e.g., progesterone cream/troches), medications for autism (e.g., methylcobalamin injection - B-12), veterinary (e.g., methimazole suspension/chewable/transdermal) and sterile products including ophthalmic (e.g., Avastin injection).
